OpusFSX Beta Version 2.82.0 is now available for download on our website.
Remember when installing the OpusFSX_v282_Beta.msi file you must uninstall your current version before installing the new version (do not delete your previous \OpusFSX installation folder). After installing please check the settings in your Configure and Weather dialogues.
After installing please check all the settings in your Configure and Weather dialogues. You can download it from http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/downloads.htm
In this beta I have added the Sim Friendly GRIB Temperatures option added to the Weather Download dialog. When set the LWE will adjust the GRIB forecasted temperatures from FL200 and above to ensure a simulator friendly cooling with altitude of the ambient air temperature. All ambient temperature monitoring has been removed from the LWE Big Brother checks as they were not effective.
A detailed weather report for the current location is now generated each time the weather is updated. The report can be found in the text file,
<OpusFSX>\Themes\OpusWeatherReport.txt
Where <OpusFSX> identifies your OpusFSX installation folder. I have also improved the Sim Friendly GRIB Wind adjustments to provide FSX with the smoothest wind target changes. The raw GRIB data is also shown in the Upper Weather Report window whenever either of the Sim Friendly GRIB options are ticked.
The Live View Test option added to the FSXCLIENT program. Instructions are included within the server's help text. The client side Live View Test should be run first and is used to make sure your client system can cope with the changing position and attitude updates reported via its SimConnect interface. To run the test,
1. Close all Spy windows.
2. Pause your server system's simulator.
3. Open the Configure dialog on your client system.
4. Click on the Live View Test button.
5. Your aircraft should jump to 500 feet above the runway.
6. With all Test tick boxes ticked, click the Start button.
7. Your client display should now show relatively smooth changes in attitude without any major stutters.
8. You should be able to alter the Update Rate slider and see a fairly smooth motion for all rates.
