Hello Everyone,
Were are getting really close to the release of the Service Pack 2. The purpose of this post is to tell everyone what you need to know for installing the SP2
1. SP2 if a full new build. It includes all previous service packs. You can install this over the top of your previous installs, or as the test team do install a fresh version.
2. Do not download using Google chrome it is know to corrupt some of the 21 gauges. Make sure your Anti Virus and spyware is off for downloaing and installing(including windows defender or other malware protection). For Vista and Windows 7 makes sure UAC is off and you right click on the installer and select run as administrator
For Windows XP users make sure SP3 is installed (32bit version only)
3. The new installer will add fresh aircraft configs. If you have repaints you want to save please back these up before running the Service Pack(Back up only the repaint details not the full config file or the changes made in SP2 will not work).
4. Remember to restart the PC after installing the SP before starting Flight Simulator
5. Remember to start FS with the default cessna and shut everything down (Battery, Alt, all light switches etc) and any old saved flights will no longer work as these were based on the old model.
