    Suspicious packages found in at least two locations abroad that were bound for the United States "apparently contain explosive material," President Barack Obama said Friday, calling the discovery "a credible threat against our country."
    The packages led to increased searches of cargo planes and trucks in several U.S. cities, said law enforcement sources with detailed knowledge of the investigation.
    U.S. officials believe that al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, commonly referred to as AQAP, is behind the incident.
    Obama confirmed that the packages originated in Yemen -- the stronghold of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
    "We also know that al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula ... continues to plan attacks against our homeland, our citizens, and our friends and allies," he said during a press briefing on the incident.
    One suspicious package, found in the United Kingdom, contained a "manipulated" toner cartridge and had white powder on it as well as wires and a circuit board, a law enforcement source said. A similar package was discovered in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, the source said. The UAE General Authority of Civil Aviation issued a statement saying the package was to be shipped on a FedEx cargo plane.

    Washington (dpa) - In Paketen in zwei Frachtflugzeugen mit dem Ziel USA hat sich nach Angaben von US-Präsident Barack Obama anscheinend explosives Material befunden. Obama sprach in Washington von einer «glaubhaften Bedrohung». Man nehme die Vorgänge sehr ernst. Die Pakete aus Dubai und Großbritannien waren offensichtlich an jüdische Einrichtungen in den USA adressiert. US-Beamten zufolge gebe es Hinweise auf eine Verbindung zur Terrororganisation Al Kaida. Das berichtet der US- Fernsehsender CNN.

    Habe grade in breaking news gehört das die Fracht wohl doch aus Bomben bestand. So ein Mist. Die Luftfahrt erholt sich ja auch grade erst. So,
    Ich liege dann mal (nachdem ich morgen frei bekommen habe) als Babysitter bei den Nachbarn auf der Couch. Habe eben mit meinem Kombi Maxis Reservematraze und eine unsere Gestebettdecke hier hin verfrachtet. Liegt ja immerhin Wasser zwischen unsere Häusern und um jetzt mitten in der Nacht ne 2 Meter Matraze um den Block zu schleppen fand ich nicht so primitive.
    Der kleine Mann hier hat so viel in sein Bettchen gepischert, wie ein Erwachsener Mann nach ner durchzechten Nacht. ^^
    Naja, jetzt ist wieder Ruhe!
    So. Mal sehen was der Neighbour so für nen Cognac hat.
    Natürlich nicht währen der königlichen Aufpassmission, aber für Nachher ;)
