Dear Airsimmer team
I've been an avid enthusiast of your product since the first time I've seen the very first screenshots. Bought the Basic version just after its release, and understood that a rushed and unfinished product, full of bugs and barely flyable, was the smartest move you could make in order to not lose the Xmas sales season.
I even accepted (but never understood) the immense delay (more than a month) in releasing a patch, when most developers issue temporary service updates as soon as critical bugs are discovered.
I waited patiently and didn't ask for a refund, although some of the members of the development team suggested me to do so (what a weird way of advertising their product!). I truly believed that the As320 had a good potential.
After installing the patch, I must confess that I AM DEEPLY UNHAPPY WITH THIS SOFTWARE AND THE WAY THIS COMPANY DOES ITS BUSINESS. I was very patient, but after installing the 1.1 version I must confess that I lost the patience... Gentlemen... You managed to make a buggy product, even worse!!!! The A-320 version 1.0 was barely flyable. Version 1.1 is unflyable at all!
And pleeease, don't say that I'm not doing proper operation. I am a real-world A-320 captain and have tried to fly this plane using the very same procedures I use in my everyday operations. Strictly by the Airbus SOP. So if there's any thing wrong with the proper operation of the plane, it's AS fault. Please don't say that my computer is not suitable for this software, or that odder add-ons (such as FSUIPC) are incompatible with it. I have several other FS add-ons such as Level D 767, Digital Aviation F-100, PMDG 747, Dreamfleet 727 and ALL of them work flawlessly. If ASimmer A-320 doesn't work properly, it's not a systems fault. It's a software fault.
Gentlemen, The plane is absolutely unflyable. The FBW simulation is not working properly. It's easy to stall/overbank the plane. The banking rate, pitch up/down rate are completely unrealistic. The autopilot doesn't fly the aircraft smoothly. The autopilot is not able to hold a proper pitch, or to adjust it properly to changes in speed during a climb. The engines spool-up times are absolutely unrealistic (way too slow) autothrust behaves in a completely unrealistic way. Some of the bugs that were told to have been fixed are still there, and there are even more new bugs that were not present in the previous (1.0) version.
And to add to my disappointment I uninstalled the product and tried to re-install it. Maybe it was some messed-up configuration that was making the plane unflyable. Well.. Now the AS doesn't install anymore. The AS Tablet stalls in the directory creation process and doesn't work anymore... I'm now with a completely useless copy of AS installed in my PC. What should I do?
Now come my questions:
1- Where are the beta testers/extended team? Are there any real A-320 pilots in both teams? Did you actually TESTED the 1.0 and 1.1 versions before release. Are you sure that their comments were taken in consideration? It's very hard to believe that there are real A-320 pilots in the beta team, because there are so many flaws in the airplane systems/ behavior /flight model that could easily be noted even by the most inexperienced A-320 pilot. Assuming there are real pilots in the beta/extended team, why their comments were not heard? Because it's hard to believe that any serious pilot would endorse these versions. I haven't been able to make a single complete flight from point A to B without several unrealistic issues in BASIC operation. Version 1.0 was at least flyable. Version 1.1 isn't able to fly an ILS approach without stalling or having the alpha floor activated.
2- Since the customers started to ask the estimated release date, the team answered them in a very arrogant "it will be ready when it's ready". Same words for the patch. Why have you changed your mind? Clearly it wasn't even close to a golden beta when it was released. And the 1.1 patch managed to bring it to an ever worse condition. I know that ALL fs products are released with some sort of bug, but let's take some examples. Digital Aviation's F-100 was perfectly flyable from version 1.0, PMDG 747 was flyable from version 1.0. Dreamfleet 727 was flyable from version 1.0 The subsequent patches were released to fix minor issues. DA Fokker 100 and DF 727 were so good that only quite experienced pilots could point out bugs, even in their first versions.
3- Are you really confident that an "advanced" version will ever be released? If a simple "basic" version is being released with so many "BASIC" bugs and the development team is not being able to solve them, how can we expect that the team will be able to release an advanced version, since the Airbus is a very complex aircraft ,with extensive systems integration?
Please, don't get me wrong. This message is sort of an advise to all users that your quality as a developers group is WELL BELOW current standards, both in terms of product quality as well as customer support.
Good luck to you all.
Ah! I would like to say that the VISUAL quality of both the model and Virtual cockpit is excellent!!
