How to report problems....

  • Ein Kollege hat mal eine schöne Sammlung erstellt, die erstaunlicherweise eigentich bei jeder Airline anwendbar ist... Da mein Scanner nicht funzt, hab ich es abgetippt...


    Guidelines for reporting of problems on international flights

    1. Do not call maintenance until everyone concerned has had time to form an opinion as to what is wrong.
    Give each crew member an oppertunity to fix the problem. Whenever possible, all controls and adjustments should be turned. It also helps to trip circuit breakers associated with the system.

    2. After several flights, when the system malfunction has created an AOG, place an URGENT call for a mechanic. 5 minutes prior departure is preferable.

    3. Alert all crew member so that each can give their version of what is wrong.
    Suggestions on how to fix the system will be welcomed by the mechanic

    4. Hide the logbook so that the mechanic wont be able to review the aircraft history.
    Make several references about the technican who had a look at the problem at the previous station.

    5. Have at least 6 flight attendants present to ask extremly ridiculous questions which are in no way related to the problem

    6. The minute the mechanic arrives, ask what took him so long. Make it clear that you expected him2 hrs ago. Before he can answer, ask him when the aircraft will be back in service.

    7. When describing the problem, be sure to give incorrect locations. Confusing aircraft left and right is useful.

    8. All components should be as dirty and greasy as possible. A mix pf hydraulic and lavatory juice works well. If the system has electrical components, add paper clips and safety wire.

    9. Ensure all items in the logbook are entered by the crewmember with the least legible handwriting. If the mechanic requests an explanation, inform him that you cant read your own writing.

    10. Assign a crew memberto supervise the repair. Someone who has minimal knowledge of the system is preferable. Bad breath is a plus here and scores bonus points.

    11. Make repeated references to slot restrictions and crew duty times. Let him know that you would not mind spending another night in the hotel.

    12. Ask again when the aircraft will be ready. Good timing is essential and when the mechanic is up to this elbowsin various parts is an excellent time.

    13. Keep cockpit and cabin lightning at the lowest possible setting as all mechanics carry flashlights. Crewmembers should make comments as to how long is the repair taking.
